Herbal Miracles – Aloe Vera

With this post, we begin our new section Herbal Miracles – a section dedicated to herbal medicine and common plants with scientifically proven medicinal properties


Aloe Vera is one of the plants with most acknowledged health benefits. Is a succulent plant, part of Liliaceae family. Different parts of the plant can be used and has both internal and external applications.

Aloe Vera contains many vitamins including A, C, E, folic acid, choline, B1, B2, B3 (niacin), B6 and it’s one of the few plants which contains B12 Vitamin.

Aloe vera gel contains powerful antioxidants, know as polyphenols, with are important for cellular regeneration.These polyphenols, along with other compounds in the plant, can help inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria and fungi.

Aloe Vera ointment is a well-knew medication for skin burns, because of her tissue regenerative properties. It’s also extremely used in cosmetic field for many applications, such as wrinkles repair or erythema (redness of the skin)

Daily use of Aloe Vera based Juice can seriously boost your Immune System. The polysaccharides in Aloe stimulate specific white cells (macrophages) that fight against viruses. Its high level of anti-oxidants can also help to cell regeneration and immune enhancing.
